What is DPD Collection?

DPD Collection is Compare and Recycle’s new collection service in partnership with DPD that can be booked when placing your order to sell a device. DPD courier will come to a provided address on your chosen date to collect your device. The service is free, and it’s the quickest and easiest way to sell your phone without the need to go to your local post office or wait for trade-in packs to arrive.

How Does Compare and Recycle’s DPD Collection Work?

When comparing prices to sell your device, the recyclers’ listings feature available postage options for you to choose from:

A green tick against DPD Collection indicates that this recycler supports our collection service. As long as you’ve picked a recycler to sell your device to that has a DPD collection among their postage options offered, on the order form you can choose to have your device collected from your address.

It’s free to use our DPD Collection service.

How to Book a DPD Collection

To book a collection, all you need to provide is the collection address on the order form, select “DPD Collection” from postage options and pick a suitable day, from next-day collection to up to 7 days in advance.

What Happens Next

After you’ve booked the collection and placed your order, you need to prepare your device for sale. Use this guide (applicable steps 1-8) to make sure you don’t forget anything.

On the day of collection, you will receive a text message confirming the time slot when a DPD courier will arrive to collect your device. Make sure you’re at the address when DPD comes. DPD courier will bring all the required packaging to safely collect your device. This includes a protective cardboard box, cellophane envelope and labels. So you don’t need to worry about packaging your device.

When the DPD courier arrives at your address, all you will need to do is give them your device and they will package it in front of you.

You can expect your device to be delivered to the recycler within 48 hours of collection. A confirmation text message will be sent to you once the device has been delivered.
