Windows Phone 7 Handsets Officially Available

The first Windows Phone 7 handsets became available to the British public today. Orange held their Windows Phone 7 launch in the Oxford Street with both the HTC 7 Mozart and Samsung Omnia 7 models available while the HTC HD7 is now available from the O2 website.

With only two networks releasing handsets so far the launch is more of a slow trickle of WP7 phones than one huge spectacular flood. Microsoft will however be pleased to see that many customers were very keen to get their hands on the newest mobile operating system.

With the Vodafone exclusive HTC 7 Trophy not yet available consumers are left with only Orange and O2 to pick from so far. The lack of choice available at this early stage could lessen the impact of the Windows Phone 7 launch. As with any major handset release this launch could trigger an increase in unused mobile phones and we urge everyone buying a new Windows Phone 7 device to recycle your old mobile phone for cash rather than throwing it out.
