Samsung Make Record Profit

While the last couple of years have been difficult for both businesses and consumers things are slowly getting back to normal and revenues for many mobile phone manufacturers are on the up. Samsung are certainly benefiting from the economic recovery as they took a record breaking $35.8 billion in revenue in the most recent quarter.

A healthy $3.96 billion of that was profit and that is in no small part down to the fact Samsung manage to move a massive 71.4 million phones during Q3 2010. Somewhere between 5 and 7 million of these were Galaxy S handsets and Samsung aim to have sold 10 million Galaxy S models by the end of the year.

Things are looking much rosier for mobile manufacturers recently with Sony and HTC also recently announcing glowing quarterly reports. Buying a new mobile is more affordable than ever now that you can compare mobile recyclers and get cash for your old handset. This may encourage more people to sell their old mobile and buy a new one, which could mean sales will continue to improve.
