Orange Announce San Francisco Android Phone

Orange have announced their new sub-£100 Android model called the San Francisco and it’s certainly caught our attention here at Compare and Recycle. The budget model appears to offer good value with a capacitive touch screen, a 3MP camera, FM radio, GPS and support for MicroSD cards up to 32GB (a 2GB card is included). The San Francisco includes the same kind of connectivity found in more expensive models including WiFi, Bluetooth and 3G and comes equipped with Android 2.1 (no word on any 2.2 update yet).

Despite costing just over £100 on Pay As You Go price plans Orange have matched more expensive models in many ways and with similar looks to more expensive models from manufacturers such as HTC and Motorola the San Francisco looks more expensive than it is. Orange look to have provided a great handset for those who don’t like the idea of being tied down to a long contract or forking out big bucks to get one of the latest handsets. If you’re interested in an Android handset that offers great value then the San Francisco can be bought from the Orange website right now.
