LG Optimus 3D now available on Three Mobile

Things really have come a long way when it comes to 3D in the last few years. The days when we had to wear those horrible cardboard 3D glasses with red and blue lenses are now a distant memory and while the 3D glasses found in cinemas are a massive improvement we’d all rather see 3D without any glasses at all.

Thankfully new devices such as the Nintendo 3DS have made glasses free 3D a reality and now the new Optimus 3D from LG brings that technology to the mobile phone. Now that touchscreens have become commonplace it’s time for a new breakthrough in the mobile world and the success of 3D in the cinema could be about to translate to the mobile phone if 3D devices like the LG Optimus 3D take off.

You may think that LG might be happy to slap a 3D screen on any old phone and hope that novelty alone would make the phone a success, but look at the specifications and it’s clear this is a top quality handset. A dual-core processor, 4.3″ screen and the latest version of Android make this a real contender even against great handsets like the Samsung Galaxy S II and HTC Sensation.

While 3D may not add much to your everyday mobile usage watching games and movies in 3D is a very appealing prospect. Only time will tell if 3D mobile phones will be the next big thing but it’s clear that 3D aside the LG Optimus 3D is still a great handset and the 3D screen is a great bonus.

You can grab yourself an LG Optimus 3D right now for free on a £35 a month contract from Three.
