Google Nexus Two Coming From Samsung?

Even now with competition from high-end models such as the HTC Desire HD the Google Nexus One is still one of the best Android handsets on the market. The second collaboration between HTC and Google, the first being the G1, was well received and it comes as no surprise that Google would produce a similar handset to showcase Android 3.0 as they did for Android 2.1.

What does come as a surprise is the fact Google may move away from their partnership with HTC and enlist Samsung to create the next Google branded device. Of course Samsung have produced the first mainstream Android tablet in the form of the Samsung Galaxy Tab and with Android Gingerbread being developed with tablets in mind it’s entirely possible the Nexus Two won’t be a phone at all but in fact a tablet to showcase Android 3.0.

The Nexus Two is bound to be popular amongst the same crowd who favoured the Nexus One for it’s standard interface and lack of manufacturer or network specific alterations. The Nexus Two may well be announced at the upcoming November 8th Samsung press event which could clear up many of the mysteries surrounding the Nexus Two, including rumours of exclusivity to Carphone Warehouse in the UK.

The announcement of the Nexus Two will probably mean that Android 3.0 is just around the corner. If the release of Android 2.1 is anything to go by there may not be an update for many current handsets, which may mean it’s time to recycle your old mobile phone and start looking for a newer handset.
