Dell Venue Pro Could Hit UK Before Christmas

One of the more interesting Windows Phone 7 devices to be announced yesterday was the Dell Venue Pro. It features a form factor quite different from the other handsets we’ve seen so far and its vertical sliding QWERTY keyboard is more reminiscent of the BlackBerry Torch than the other WP7 phones which have been revealed.

Not a great deal is known about the device other than it will feature a 4.1″ AMOLED display but it can be guessed that a 1Ghz processor, 5MP camera and 8GB of storage will be on board in line with other WP7 devices. Since it is the only WP7 handset offering a vertical sliding QWERTY it may be able to stand out among the crowd and gain a strong following despite fierce competition from LG, Samsung and HTC.

It has been rumoured that here in the UK we could see the Venue Pro available this side of Christmas. Although O2 exclusively stocked the Dell Streak there is no word on which networks are showing an interest at the moment.

Here at Compare and Recycle we’re very keen to hear more about the Dell Venue Pro since it is one of the WP7 devices to really stand out and we’ll be hoping to get a firm release date as soon as possible.
