Apple Magic Trackpad, Sky+ Recording on Android

Here’s https://www.compareandrecycle.co.uk’s round-up of the latest technology news:

Apple Launch Magic Trackpad

Despite many laptop users opting to use a mouse rather than struggle with a trackpad, Apple seem to think that touch input is the future for desktop machines and yesterday launched the Magic Trackpad.

Many have questioned the purpose of such a device when in many ways the conventional mouse seems superior. While the multi-touch gestures possible seem well suited to web browsing the limitations of the Magic Trackpad restrict it to the same uses as a normal mouse. It seems that a graphics tablet style device with a stylus would have opened up many more possibilities of using the Magic Trackpad, especially since the Mac is so popular with those involved with design.

The wireless trackpad is selling for a quite reasonable £59 on the Apple website right now, although you may want to hold out for full touchscreen desktops to become the standard before you think about ditching your mouse.

Sky+ Remote Recording on Android

If there was any more proof needed to see that Android is catching up with the iPhone then Sky have provided us with a little bit more evidence, in the form of their Sky+ Remote Recording App.

It does exactly what the name suggests and lets you record to your Sky+ box when on the move. You get a 7 Day EPG to select which programmes to record and the only major drawback is you need to set your recording at least 30 minutes before the start of the programme.
