Angry Birds Hits Android

Here’s https://www.compareandrecycle.co.uk’s round-up of the latest technology news:

Angry Birds Lite Beta Now Available on Android Market

Despite only being released last December Angry Birds has sold in excess of 6.5 million copies on the iPhone and other Apple devices. As one of the most popular games on the iPhone Angry Birds has built a reputation as being both challenging, addictive and until now, the envy of Android users.

Things are looking up for those who have escaped Apple’s clutches though with the release of Angry Birds Lite Beta on the Android Market. The game itself is almost identical to the iPhone version with the added benefit of higher resolution graphics than the original. The game looks great on a device such as the Desire and the more vibrant colours of the AMOLED screen are better suited the colourful visuals than the more accurate but subdued tones of the Retina Display. Performance seems to be fine, at least on high powered devices, although it can’t quite be said that the game is as smooth as the iPhone version, although it is still in the beta stages and tweaks can always be made through updates.

Angry Birds Lite Beta is available free on the Android Market right now with the full paid version likely to be released in the next few weeks.
